Mets Get to Nationals’ Clippard

11:43 p.m. | Updated The Mets brought Nationals reliever Tyler Clippard back to earth on Tuesday.
Clippard, who discussed his 6-0 start with The Times’s Tyler Kepner on Monday, took the loss in the Mets’ 8-6 comeback win Tuesday night at Citi Field.
Clippard entered the game in the eighth with the Nationals ahead,cheap St Louis Cardinals Hats, 6-3, and runners on second and third with no outs. After Jeff Francoeur struck out, the Mets followed with four straight hits — double, single, single, double — to take a 7-6 lead and hand Clippard his fifth blown save of the season. The unsung heroes for the Mets on Tuesday were the four relievers who followed a shaky Jon Niese. Manny Acosta allowed an inherited runner to score in the fifth,Cheap New Era Jordan Hats, which made it 6-1. Then he, Hisanori Takahashi,cheap Oakland Athletics Hats, Raul Valdes and Francisco Rodriguez combined for four and two-thirds shutout innings to leave the Mets in position to rally.
Takahashi has allowed only three earned runs in his last 14 2-3 innings, lowering his E.R.A. to 2.78.
David Wright, whose streak of strikeouts ended at nine Monday, went 3 for 4. But,Cleveland Indians Hats, alas, with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth,Chicago White Sox Hats, he struck out.
