Madden NFL's iron-fisted death-grip on the use of all NFL material for video games is ending... at least for browser-based games. Quick Hit Inc. announced today that it has secured a multi-year NFL license for browser game Quickhit Football. The license includes the 32 NFL team names, logos, colors, uniform and helmet designs, as well as the Super Bowl, NFC, AFC, and Pro Bowl logos.
Starting with the 2010 season, Quickhit players will be able to show their support NFL squads by customizing their online team. Options will include the ability to choose the logos, colors and uniforms of their favorite NFL team, select plays that are consistent with that team’s style of play, and more.
The game is free to play, and the old-school overhead view breaks football down to the essentials -- it's a perfect diversion for fans and a great tutorial for those less familiar with the "savage ballet," so I honestly can't think of a single reason you wouldn't play it. Check it out... and go Eagles!
E3 attendees will be able to check out the game at the show,
Ray-Ban RB3293, too.
