The standard system with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Thursday directed the civic administration to empower ward officers with rights to generate corrections in water charges. The decision was taken within the see of the higher number of complaints of inflated h2o bills in the twin metropolitan areas.

Speaking at the meeting, Pimpri-Chinchwad mayor,Office 2007 Download, Yogesh Behl,Office 2010 Pro Key, stated the officers at the h2o provide division had been harassing the citizens more than water charges. “These officers are not listening to the citizens and are sending excessive drinking water bills to them. The officers are forgetting that water provide is a service, not a business,” he stated.
“Residents had reported delay in making changes in drinking water bills. Hence, if the power to rectify the wrong charges is given to officers at the ward level then it will be a big relief for the residents,” he explained.
Despite strong opposition, the PCMC under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) had introduced the water meter system in 2009. The civic system had invested Rs60 crore for purchasing h2o meters.
Residents in the twin cities of Pimpri-Chinchwad as well as public representatives have expressed discontent over faulty drinking water meter systems.
Corporators on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction about the h2o meter system at the GB meeting. Demanding a probe into the matter by the civic chief, former mayor Azam Pansare asked how civic officials could distribute expenses of Rs30,000 instead of Rs3,000.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator, Ulhas Shetty, mentioned that after the installation of h2o meters in Pimpri-Chinchwad, bill distribution had become complicated. “A family of four is receiving drinking water charges of Rs20,000 to Rs40,000. The civic administration harasses the citizens by threatening to cut off their tap connection if the expenses are not paid on time,Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007,” Shetty explained.
Residents have to visit the PCMC office repeatedly to settle the water bills, but officers continue to behave arrogantly with them. Such mistakes would not have occurred if there was a computerised billing system in area,Microsoft Office 2010 Product Key, he added.
Behl directed the civic administration to take immediate steps to resolve the issue. He also stated that an all-party meeting or a special basic physique meeting will be called if the administration fails to resolve the issue.
