An industry expert from Citic Securities told Caijing that since ship prices have dropped more than 20 percent due to weakening market conditions, the risks associated with forming a new shipping company have lowered. Therefore, Huaneng decided to set up a small company to test the water.

According to the ministry, Rui Ning Shipping has registered capital of 500 million yuan. It is set to operate two cargo ships with combined capacity of 65,adidas f50,000 tons for coastal freight services *along the middle and lower Yangtze River.
