Long-term exposure to moisture will eventually weaken chemical bonds and lead to the detrioration of leather material and threaded seams. New or old, this will cause the sole to separate or the boot’s construction to essential fail. This boot isn’t expensive because its “maintenance-free”. If maintained properly, this and any quality leather boot can last a very long time. If you live in a dry climate year round or seasonally, condition the leather more often, even if the leather looks “healthy”.
