Students created a variety of looks ranging from china doll to Barbie doll, each based on their individual interpretation of the theme. Students were fully involved in the brand of the look and direction of the shoot. They designed the outfits for each model buying,herve leger, borrowing and customising clothes to fit the theme. They liaised with make-up artists and the photographer and created some extravagant new hairstyles using accessories such as chicken wire and balloons to shape the hair in different ways. Students have worked on 3 shoots,herve leger bandage dress, all of which will contribute towards their portfolios. The first theme was Classic with students creating a hair style using strong lines or curves to create a traditional style which doesnt date. Lecturer in Hair Beauty and the Leisure Industries organised the shoot location and says she wanted students to experiment with a different environment from that they were used to: We wanted it to be a natural environment. Its a great experience for our students to direct their own shoot.
