After the polo game, the duke and duchess will head to downtown Los Angeles to attend a black-tie event at the historic Belasco Theatre, where they will be guests of medal at a British Academy of Film and Television Arts supper honoring 42 young British filmmakers.

The match was something of a recreational diversion for the couple, who otherwise are costing the bulk of their three-day trip to Southern California promoting British business ties to the U.S. and highlighting charitable work.


The Duke of Cambridge scored four goals as his team worked on to win the overall match. The crowd at the sun-splashed Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club rushed onto the field antagonism one announcer's appeals for them to return their seats, and eventually security used a line of tether to push them back.

CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Prince William, with his current wife, Kate, watching, took to the field for a generosity polo match Saturday on the second day of a royal visit to Southern California.


The account of celebrities reportedly too attending reads like a who's who of Hollywood royalty: Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Quentin Tarantino and Judd Apatow.



On Sunday, William and Kate ambition see a disco at a nonprofit college in the gritty Skid Row zone of city center then attend a job fair for U.S. servicemen and women transitioning to civilian life.


They then attended a private reception at the family of British Consul General Barbara Hay. Among the celebrities seen chatting at the event for the couple were British football star David Beckham and humorist Stephen Fry.

William dressed a pearly shirt and trousers with a blue blazer while Kate sported a silver and marble-grey,requin tn, hand-painted silk clothe by British designer Jenny Packham.
