The story began during the early early morning hrs yesterday, when Carlos Barrios was beating his tran######ual girlfriend, Marcelo Campanas, who goes by the title of “Hazel.” Inside the center of the dispute, Campanas described as a cousin for guidance, who subsequently known as 911 and his good friend Edwin Santana to rough up the “wife”-beater.
When Officer Rodney Lewis and his partner arrived at the scene they couldn’t find anyone inside couple’s home on Menahan Street. Confused, the cops commenced cruising around the neighborhood looking for Barrios when they found Santana walking down the street and got out on the car to question him.
It’s unclear how the scuffle began, but apparently Santana ignored the officers so they decided to take him down. Despite the fact that they were subduing Santana, who was only around the street to benefit poor old Hazel, a gun fell from his waistband and fired a single shot into Lewis’s chest.
The wounded officer was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Middle and is in stable condition.
