considerably from the US and Canada now know, Bill will be the new Apprentice. Most folks in Microsoft Recruiting seemed to be pulling for Kwame, but what do we know? We only evaluate talent for a living. (Hey, maybe that’s telling us something!) today, cheap windows 7 x64 key, Heather, Zoë, and I (along with some other co-workers) reviewed last night’s episode, and we all agreed on one point: While we felt Kwame was the most well-rounded candidate with the bunch, Bill was a better fit for the specific job for which The Donald was hiring. Too bad we didn’t know what that job was earlier, but then again, that seems to be the way we do our jobs here half the time, too. :) (Disclaimer, buy windows 7 x64!) key difference between Bill and Kwame is that Bill is a hands-on, attentive manager and Kwame prefers to step back and empower his employees to make the right decisions, while supporting their actions. Neither style is right or wrong … and depending on the environment and players involved, I’d hope any good manager would be able to adjust his or her style appropriately. Neither Bill nor Kwame showed me they could effectively adjust their styles depending on the situation, but I certainly hope they can. for Kwame, he hired some bad employees whom he couldn’t trust to get the right things done, and his hands-off approach was his ultimate demise … well, that, and not firing Omarosa. (Told you so, Heather!) And given the task at hand, Bill’s style was more successful, if not overkill. that I know the winner will be overseeing a massive construction project (a skyscraper in Chicago – as Bill chose – or a golf course in LA), I agree that Bill’s style with his attentive, win 7 home basic x64 key, hands-on approach will be the best match for the job. Managing a construction project means you are dealing with a multitude of people with varying levels of skill and tasks with varying levels of detail. You’ve really got to stay in the thick of things. While Kwame would have likely been able to adjust his style for this situation, being hands-on is not a strength of his so the job would have been more of a stretch. Bill is a natural fit. see Kwame as a better fit for corporate America where he’s working with a set of highly competent, carefully selected, and trusted direct reports. He manages best from a 30000 ft view and can handle strategy, communication plans, microsoft office 2010 x86 sale, etc, but needs to trust his reports to deliver on the details. Again, microsoft office Professional 2007 update key, I don’t think this particular project would have allowed him to do that. a Recruiter, finding the right job for the right person may be the most difficult yet most rewarding part of my job. That’s actually why I took a job on my current team. In my role (that is still being defined), I will act as an outward facing “Recruiting Evangelist” who cares first and foremost about finding the best talent. Once I find that talent, I have to turn my focus inward toward our business needs and make a one to one match. If a match doesn’t exist, I’ll foster the relationship with this candidate until an opportunity becomes available. I explained in my post about the Recruiting process, most Recruiters work in the opposite manner. They face inward toward the business and define the hiring priorities. They then turn outward toward the candidate community to find a specific person for a specific opening. roles hold an important place in any Recruiting organization, and both have their pros and cons. If I’m looking broadly for the best in the best, I may find people who don’t map to current business needs. But if other Recruiters are looking for current business needs, they may miss out on the best on the best. I wish The Donald gave us his job description 3 months ago. We could have narrowed down the field for him a lot sooner. And if Kwame doesn’t want to join Microsoft, I know he’ll still find a fabulous job. He’s one of those “best in the best,” so I don’t worry about him a bit!
