Default belstaff españa 分庭抗礼

Author's Notes:
Although I have classified this story under Action (and indeed it does contain some action), I like to think that this story falls under the more specific genre of 'martial arts', or rather wu xia (武侠). Since traditionally, wuxia novels are set in ancient China, I decided to give this story a vague background to that effect, though most of the events occur in settings which are not uniquely ancient Chinese. Also, the characters' names, as well as certain places and martial arts moves, are all translated from Chinese, which will be apparent as you read through:) If anyone is interested, I've put down the chinese words next to it. Oh, I've also tried to give the dialogue in the story a distinct flavour from that era.
Well, enough of my ramblings, please enjoy the story.:)
第一部
Book One
前言Prologue
Hundreds of years ago, in a country known as The Middle Kingdom, there was a special society wherein dwelt people with special abilities. This society, known as the pugilist realm, existed in the same space and time as ancient China, however, the society had it own rules, it own culture and above all, its own code of honour. And those select few, out of thousands of Chinese commoners, who lived in this world were simply called pugilists.
分庭抗礼
Equal Footing
His hair and robes were swaying gently in the breeze, his beautifully chiseled features deceptively relaxed. Standing by one side, Ouyang Ziyan (欧阳紫烟) could not help but think that though she loved her husband deeply, her eldest brother was the more beautiful of the two males standing in front of her. For a moment, she felt a slight twinge in her heart…oh why couldn't he have been a stranger? If only he was anyone else but her blood brother… Shaking herself mentally, Ouyang Ziyan sternly told herself to stop ogling her brother and watch the impending duel.
It was but a practice bout of course, yet, the aura surrounding the two would-be combatants were intense. She watched nervously as her husband, Ji Deyu (纪德宇), bowed decorously to her brother. "Big brother(大哥), please guide me along." Ji Deyu's address was extremely respectful. Though Ouyang Xuan(欧阳翾) was her eldest brother, he was two years younger than Ji Deyu. In the unusually informal pugilist world of which they were a part, he would have been well within the bounds of courtesy to address him as "Honoured younger brother(贤弟)" or even the formal 'Elder Brother-in-law (大舅子)". Yet, since her eldest brother had rescued them both from the clutches of her cold and ruthless father years ago, her husband's attitude towards her eldest brother had taken a drastic turn for the better.
"No need to be polite. After you." Ouyang Xuan's tone was chilly, as always. Only with the womenfolk of his family did his voice show the slightest warmth. Used to his brother-in-law's habits, Ji Deyu did not take offense, but merely smiled slightly. Then, without the slightest warning, his sword flashed out of its sheath in the morning sun and he commenced his attack. Ouyang Ziyan gasped. She watched in shock as her husband's every stroke aimed towards her eldest brother's vital points. Why was he so serious about this? Just when she was about to start worrying, her eldest brother slowly drew out his own sword from his sheath. Yet although his unsheathing was extremely slow and deliberate, he still managed to dodge or parry every single one of Ji Deyu's attack, simply by virtue of the fact that once his sword was out of the sheath, his movements and strokes were so rapid that all Ouyang Ziyan could see was a blur of motion, despite her own martial arts skills.
Ji Deyu did not give up. When his first flurry of offensive did not work, he tried to use tricks instead, hoping to draw out Ouyang Xuan. Unfortunately for him, Ouyang Xuan was too shrewd and intuitive for those tricks to work. Ouyang Ziyan watched with awe and delight as both her husband and brother sparred, their skill level far above hers. However, after a time, Ji Deyu's sword strokes began to slow. Knowing that he was swiftly tiring, Ji Deyu mounted a last ditch assault on his opponent, renewing his rapid onslaught. A lesser sparring partner would have yielded under the furious attack, however, Ouyang Xuan's lips lifted slightly as he calmly turned aside all the blows. At last, Ji Deyu stepped back, panting. "Spare me, big brother, I yield."
Ouyang Xuan lifted an eyebrow slightly. Ji Deyu laughed and sheathed his sword. "Big brother is even swifter than he was a year ago; I'm no match for you. But I must thank you for the bout; it really taught me a lot." Ouyang Xuan eyed Ji Deyu in consideration. At length, he spoke. "You embellish your strokes too much." Then, he too sheathed his swords and started to walk back to the house. Ouyang Ziyan knew her eldest brother well, so she was unsurprised that he ended the conversation with a criticism. Throwing a brilliant smile at her husband, she stuck out her tongue at her brother's back. Giggling slightly, she scooped up her youngest sister into her embrace before increasing her pace, speeding by her brother. "I'm going home to cook dinner, catch up when you can!"
The two men watched in silent amusement as Ouyang Ziyan, that precious beloved of theirs, used her lightness skills to speed home. As Ji Deyu drew level with Ouyang Xuan, the latter asked suddenly, "Did she stick out her tongue at me?" Ji Deyu looked at Ouyang Xuan in astonishment, "How did you…" he caught himself, annoyed at himself for 'betraying' his wife unwittingly. Ouyang Xuan's lips twitched into a small, rare smile. He remained silent for a while, before saying at last, "She always used to do that when I critiqued her skills. Seems that she feels the same way when I do that to you."
Ji Deyu's smile was sweet and tender as it could be only when the subject of discussion was his beloved wife. "Yeah, belstaff españa, Yan can be childish at times. But that's what I love about her." Ouyang Xuan glanced at his brother-in-law,adidas günstig, and then nodded once. Abruptly, he said, "Your sword skills have improved. You've finally proven that you're strong enough to protect her. I take back my previous words; you're worthy to be Little Sis'(妹子) husband." Without waiting for a response, ugg bailey button, he started striding back to the house.
