Beijing-Shanghai Rail Targets Listing by 2009 End
» The rail administrations of Beijing, Shanghai and Jinan will inject their Beijing-Shanghai rail line assets into a new holding company that they look to list on the domestic stock market, Caijing has learned.
» A source from Shanghai Railway Administration who asked not to be named told Caijing that the plan will be carried out within the year, with China International Capital Co. acting as restructuring adviser.
» The Ministry of Railways is planning to bundle assets worth 300 billion yuan belonging to the three rail operators into a holding company, which it then plans to list, the official China Daily reported June 25.

» Hengqin, the largest island of Zhuhai on the southern coast of Guangdong Province, will be integrated into the Special Economic Zone of Guangdong,abercrombie & fitch, according to a June 24 decision by the State Council. This move aims to explore cooperation between Guangdong and Special Administrative Regions Hong Kong and Macau.
» Turning Hengqin Island into a Pan-Pearl River Delta economic cooperation zone can tackle land inadequacy issues for Hong Kong and Macau. For example, the University of Macau may relocate to the island.

China Central Bank to Maintain Moderately Loose Monetary Policy
» The People's Bank of China (PBOC, or the central bank), said it will continue with its moderately loose policy stance to ensure reasonable growth of money supply and credit.
» In a second-quarter report published June 25,abercrombie and fitch, the PBOC stated that while overall economic growth is stabilizing, the foundation for recovery has not yet solidified, as China still needs to deal with a grim global economic environment.
» The central bank said it will restrict lending to highly-polluting, energy-intensive industries as well as industry sectors suffering from overcapacity.

CNOOC, Fujian Government to Invest in Energy Projects
» China National Offshore Oil Co. (CNOOC), the parent company of CNOOC Ltd., plans to tie up with the government of southeastern China's Fujian province to invest 23 billion yuan in several energy projects there, China Business News reported.
» CNOOC, the country's top offshore oil and gas producer, will construct a crude reserve with a 5 million ton capacity and a liquefied natural gas terminal with an annual capacity of 2.6 million tons on an island near Ningde city, the paper said.
» CNOOC also plans to build oil and gas docks and ship-building facilities on the island, according to the paper,doudoune moncler pas cher, but the company has yet to announce the construction timetable for the projects.

» The New York Stock Exchange said it expects up to five Chinese companies to go public in the second half of the year.

» China Cosco Holdings Co.,air jordan chaussure, the major listed unit of China's largest shipping conglomerate, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Co., is seeking to secure international business in expectation of a turnaround in the shipping industry.
» Speaking at June 25 forum in Shanghai, Wei said Cosco, despite booking a first quarter loss, has adequate capital to support operations and intends to be more aggressive in securing overseas orders.
» Wei said he expected demand from developed countries would recover soon in line with a broader upturn in the shipping industry. Earlier, he had noted that Cosco expects to return to profit in the second half of 2009 due to this increasing demand.

China Calls for Strict Compliance with Resolution 1874
» A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized at a June 25 regular press conference that the UN Security Council's actions against North Korea as part of Resolution 1874 should not adversely impact the country's development or humanitarian assistance to it..
» The resolution, adopted on June 12, calls upon all member states of the UN Security Council to tighten sanctions against North Korea, including inspecting and destroying all banned cargo to and from that country if there is enough suspicion.
» The Council also called for members states not to provide public financial support for trade with North Korea that could possibly contribute to the country's arms-related activities.

Yunnan Aluminum Expects H1 Net Loss
» Yunnan Aluminium Co. said it expects a net loss in the first half of 110 to 120 million yuan, or 0.104 to 0.114 yuan per share, due to weak selling prices.
» That compares with a net profit of 147.6 million yuan a year earlier, for an earnings per share of 0.14 yuan, the company said in a statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on June 25.
» Aluminium products consumption recovered in the second quarter as the domestic economy improved, leading to a narrow profit, the statement said without providing specific figures.

Shanghai to Expand Overseas Incorporation
» After allowing foreign private equity and venture capital firms to incorporate as investment management firms in Shanghai's Pudong financial district, city officials are now saying they may expand the policy to include the whole city.
» Fang Xinghai, director of the Shanghai Financial Service Office, a municipal government agency, told an industry forum on June 25 that the new policy could be introduced "in the near future."
