Default Nike Air Max Skyline Painting Shadows

Chapter OneThe phone call came at around lunch time. The voice on the other end was completely undecipherable, filled with shrieks and sobs. Michael held the phone away from his ear as a series of sobs ended and the fourth set of screams began. He looked at his partner, Liam, helplessly. What should he do? He had absolutely zero knowledge in the area of women and this was no exception. Liam grinned, and Michael had no doubt that a series of taunts and unbearable mockery was to come."Hello? Yes…ok…miss, calm…no, no…..please calm down, I can't understand you. What? Miss, please, calm down, if you don't, I can't be of any assistance. Ok, good. Take a deep breath. In, out, in, out, there. Now, what were you trying to say? Yes? Blood? Seeping through the door? No one answers? Ok, we'll be there." Liam's grin grew wider as he hung up and turned to face Michael."Wipe that stupid grin off of your face, it's a murder," Michael warned."Most likely not, it's another prank call. I mean, come on she's talking about Warehouse 94, the supposedly 'haunted' warehouse." Liam sighed. "Besides, it's government property.""We're a part of the government.""Not this government, THAT government."Michael stared at him with a befuddled expression. What he had just said made no sense."Ok, let me say this. There's the type of government we are, or work for, and that is public safety, so special police. The other type is completely secretive, like secret police and such. Get it?" Liam tried to explain."I think I know now." Michael mused."Good, and what do you know?""That your explanations are the worst.""That's not nice, I'm not inviting you to lunch anymore.""Good, 'cause I never planned on going with you anyway.""Ooh, is it a woman?""No, now get out of my face before I'm compelled to make you myself.""Fine," Liam left the room,Nike Air Max Skyline, supposedly for his lunch break, but Michael knew he just wanted to get the heck out of there to flirt with the new young secretaries. They completely ignored the call. A nagging feeling at the back of his mind told him there's something going on, but what?Warehouse 94 was facing one of its more normal days. One of the subjects, though, was misbehaving: Subject 238. Her calm exterior would not waver no matter what was forced upon: all the joy a twelve year old dreams about to the most horrid methods of torture imaginable by the human mind. Nothing would break her emotionless shell. The next step was dismembering, a step that had not been used since Subject 49 in the eighteenth century. For the 50th time in six years, she was resisting, but with her usual passive face. She kept her arms and legs practically glued together; there was no way to separate them to strap her to the chair. The same procedure would have to be followed. Armed guards who defended the perimeter would be called in to forcefully seat her. She would be rock solid and they'd have to bayonet her, not shallow enough to graze, but deep enough to make an impact without killing her. This day would prove different. The guards had arrived, but instead of standing there motionless, she moved. Her tiny frame made her agile, with such swiftness it was hard to believe she had been tortured and experimented on like a lab rat for the past six years. She expertly picked one of the guards' weapons: a small but sharp dagger. Before he registered what was happening, the dagger imprinted a deep gash into his neck. His comrades stood silent and shocked as they watched him fall, not fully registering what was happening."Don't just stand there! Get her!" The commander, being the first to recover, ordered. Subject 238 stared at them intently,Womens Coogi Jeans, not moving until the soldiers moved closer. At the last possible second, and so inhumanly fast, she darted through them, slashing her dagger every which way. As she reached the other side, the guards looked back at her, confused. She had only made tiny wounds in each of them, not seemingly fatal. A moment passed, 238 blinked, and one by one, like dominos, the guards began to fall. It seemed as if she had done nothing fatal, but she had expertly jabbed the most fatal places in the human body. The scientists behind the glass screen stared with shock. This was the first time Subject 238 had shown any different movements. The bloodshed was done in just under two minutes. At last, someone recovered enough to pull the alarm."CODE BLACK! CODE BLACK! A SUBJECT HAS JUST DISPLAYED AGRESSION! I REPEAT, SUBJECT HAS DISPLAYED AGRESSION!"The intercom repeated the same message over and over again. Loud, ear piercing sirens wailed throughout the entire complex and all work was abandoned. All other subjects were roughly shoved back into their cells. Men and women clad in black protective armour appeared, carrying heavy duty machine guns and wearing dark glasses. Subject 238 looked at them with mild interest. She felt as if she had nothing to lose, so she darted towards them. From outside Warehouse 94, civilians thought they had heard screaming. One woman in particular, walking dangerously close to the building, witnessed the slow trail of red liquid running down the street. Upon closer inspection, sapatos timberland, it was defined as blood."I have been waiting for you."Michael looked bewildered as a beautiful woman stood in front of him. Just a second ago, he was counting sheep, trying to fall asleep. Now he found himself in a dark void with no end in sight. She smiled at him, causing him to get flustered. The strange thing, though, was that he didn't feel at all attracted to her. Her beauty was ravishing, but there was an otherworldly essence to her, and unapproachable presence. "Where am I?" he asked, choosing his words carefully."You're in my world."With a gesture, the void shifted to a large white room that resembled the foyer of a palace. Everything was luxurious,USA Clarks Shoes Women, glistening with a cold gleam. It was uninviting."Why am I here? What am I asking? This is just a dream!""That's what you may think." The woman gracefully walked toward him and placed a small, dainty hand on his cheek. It was cold, colder than ice. Her face was close to his. So close. She was as white as snow, her cheeks and lips were as red as blood. There was something missing though…"I am not here to tell you if this is a dream or not. I am here to congratulate you.""Congratulate me? For doing what?""You will have to take care of her. That is all I'll say."As she was speaking, the edges of the room started fading. Before he could reply, the whole room had faded to nothing. Even she was gone. The loud, obnoxious ring his cellphone woke Michael up. He cursed as he dragged himself out of bed to answer. Why hadn't he turned off the blasted thing?"Hello?" he spoke groggily into the phone."Michael! Get down here, quick!" It was Liam. The urgency in his voice waked Michael up."Get down where? I don't even know where you are!" while he talked, he was hurrying to put on a clean pair of jeans, the first t-shirt he found, and sneakers. He was already out the door, putting on his leather jacket when Liam told him the location."Warehouse 94."Michael stopped. Thunder rumbled in the distance, giving an ominous feeling. He shook his head and before he could convince himself out of going, he hopped on to his motor bike and revved away. They had set the warehouse on fire.Subject 238 was alone in one of the main control rooms. Bodies were strewn about around her. Some of them were missing limbs; some of them looked completely fine, like they were sleeping. She had found a rag doll and that fascinated her, even though she didn't show it. Hot fire burned around her, burning the bodies and leaving a putrid smell in the air. When she had gone on her killing spree, she had completely annihilated the team responsible for her. A woman had called the police, and now they were here. They couldn't be found out, so the only resolution was to destroy the evidence. Gasoline was poured around the perimeter of the building and a single match had been thrown. The warehouse had erupted into flames in less than a second. At that moment, she could hear yells coming from the outside, Orders from one human being to another. How she envied these humans. She was a human, was she not? So why had she been treated like an animal? Worse than an animal? Even animals aren't subject to waterboarding. They don't have to go through the pain of being set on fire alive; or even being whipped like a slave from the middle ages. Her hand closed tightly around the dolls neck. She had done nothing wrong, yet, she had been subject to terrors a grown man would have found terrifying. A surge of anger made its way to her, an uncharacteristic feeling. She dropped the doll in surprise. What was this feeling, if it was a feeling at all? It was fascinating, and she wanted to wallow in it a while longer. The door to the room burst open, and she found herself looking at a man. This wasn't a man from the warehouse. She had memorised each and every one of their faces as well as the twisted sadistic pleasure they had when carrying out their experiments. This man was a foreigner, someone strange. He wasn't a new recruit either. His messy black hair, frenzied green eyes, leather-jacket-jean-t-shirt look was the complete opposite of the lab-coat, neat hair, and dead black eyes of the warehouse employees."Oh god, there's a kid here," he muttered. She looked back at him blankly. He sighed and ran in to the room, coughing from the smoke and smell. He held out his hand to her. She stared at it, not comprehending the meaning behind it. She tilted her head, confused."Come on," he said it gently, but she could hear a sense of urgency behind his words. "Take my hand.""Why? Are you going to do what they've done?" it was her first time speaking in six years. What they've done? What have they done? Michael wondered. Here was a little girl, looking at him calmly even though they were surrounded by fire and melting bodies.Warehouse 94 was a giant fireball when he first arrived. Liam was shouting orders at a team of men and women. Apparently, there were still people inside the building and they had to get them out. The strange thing though, was that they were found to have been locked in cells."Michael! Make yourself useful and help out! I'm going to the west wing." Liam ran off. Without hesitating, Michael made his way.He had found no one, but as he ventured further into the building, dead bodies starting sprouting up. They didn't seem to have died because of the fire either, someone had stabbed them. The puddle of blood was thicker near one door. This time he hesitated before going in. He wasn't ready for what was waiting for him. Bodies were piled up around the room and in the middle of it all sat a little girl, holding a rag doll. She was in terrible condition. Her dark brown hair was overgrown, uneven at the ends, and her clothes were two sizes too big. Her green eyes made her look older then her actual age, like they've seen things no one should see."Who are you?" her voice was rough, hoarse, as if she hadn't used it in a while.Suddenly, he felt an unusual urge to protect her. This little girl, skinnier then she's supposed to be, who seemed so helpless. He had made his decision. Without waiting for her to take his hand, he bent down, picked her up, and ran out.The cold wind was welcoming. Sweat from the heat beaded across his forehead, plastering his hair to his head. The little girl was unmoving in his arms. He looked at her, and mentally heaved a sigh of relief. She was still breathing. A large explosion caused him to run, get away from the building as fast as possible. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Liam running towards him."The whole place's gonna blow. We got out as many people as we can," he shouted over the noise of sirens. "Who's this?""I don't know, I found her in one of the rooms," Michael replied."That's strange." Liam's face creased into a worried frown. "She's the only child…""What are you trying to say?""Everyone we saved was between the ages of 25 and 40. This is the first child we've seen. And look." Liam lifted up one of the girl's sleeves. Scars criss-crossed down the length of her arm, some were faded and some looked new."What is this?" Michael asked quietly."I don't know. The rest of them had these, but hers look worse. And look at this." There were deep lacerations in their legs, like she'd been clawed at by a bear. Michael felt sudden anger rise in him. Who'd do this to a child?"Well, it's obvious that we should take her somewhere safe, and question later," Michael said, walking away."Fine, I'll see you tomorrow, and then we'll get this thing sorted and find a place for her." Liam walked away in the opposite direction. The silence allowed Michael some time to think. Nothing made sense. What he did know was there was something wrong with warehouse 94.Topics related articles:
