Designer John Galliano was arrested in Paris this morning for an alleged assault in a cafe,

Galliano reportedly accosted a couple at a spot in the city’s Marais District while under the influence of alcohol, making some anti-Semitic remarks. (It seems, from this report,

Dior’s official statement regarding the incident: “Dior affirms with the utmost conviction its policy of zero tolerance towards any antisemitic or racist words or behaviour…Pending the results of the inquiry, Christian Dior has suspended John Galliano from his responsibilities.”

It’s strange, because we were just reading somewhere–maybe Vogue, maybe Harper’s Bazaar?–that Galliano’s years at Dior have been reasonably drama-free, despite his reputation for being a “bad boy.” Guess that streak has come to an end.
