MARIETTA, Ga. - Finding a pretty dress for the prom these days can cost you a pretty penny.

But there is a place in Cobb County where you can buy them right now at four to five times under the normal price.

And it's all for a great cause. The sale benefit the Cobb Alcohol Task Force's efforts to secure non-profit status.

Members of the Cobb Alcohol Task Force are getting ready for a busy party season.

"They're getting ready to have proms, they're getting ready to go on spring break and then they're getting ready for that popular graduation prom dresses," said Pat Giuliani of the Cobb Alcohol Task Force.

At a storefront donated by Roswell Street Church in Marietta, the group is gearing up to sell discounted prom dresses to the public. The bedazzled grad dresses, once loved gowns will only cost buyers between $25 and $100.

"In today's economy short prom dresses, a lot of families don't have the budgets set aside yet. By the time you pay your senior dues cheap grad dresses, getting the corsage, [it] continues to add up and add up and add up plus size prom dresse 2011," said Giuliani.

The alcohol task force acknowledges prom is a rite of passage fo every teen. They also say there are some teens involving themselves in different activities and doesn't end so festively.

10% drove after drinking alcohol
28% rode with a driver who had been drinking alcohol


"We also found that 53 percent of them drink in someone else's home," said Giuliani.

State troopers say that was the case when Jason Lark, 17 A-Line prom dresses, lost control of an SUV last month - killing Villa Rica High School student Cheyenne Sauls. At least one adult has been charged in the crime, accused of supplying the alcohol.
