SELFRIDGES has revealed that the tide is turning in the luxury handbag market as consumer's stray from last season's obsession with "classic investment pieces", instead buying colourful It-bags again.
Mulberry has reported a 100 per cent rise in sales at the department store against last year, driven by huge demand for its new Alexa satchel. Rather than customary black and tan leather, Mulberry has a waiting list for the Alexa bag in hot pink,canada goose coats, leopard print and electric blue - as customers look to brighten their spring wardrobes.
Following the Alexa at the top of Selfridges' handbag chart is the?Marc by Marc Jacobs Hillier bag in bright purple and Balenciaga's City bag in electric blue,hair ghd, fuchsia and red. Across all styles Selfridges has reported a 60 per cent increase in luxury handbag sales compared to last year across its stores in Birmingham, Manchester and London.

Today I am leaving for a two week vacation to Europe. My long lost college roommate and I are going to be hitting up Spain and Italy and in Italy Vlad will be meeting up with us for a Gondola ride or two!
