Nishok, the fan, left his friends behind to go watch the Brazilian Olympic team train. Toward the end of the session, he broke into a song about his favorite player, Anderson — one that Manchester United fans may be familiar with:
As Anderson warmed down at the side of the pitch, he signalled for the Brazilian media officer to invite Nishok down from the grandstand on to the field, to have a chat with him.
LATE ADD: Reader Dylan gives us the video that shows Nishok actually singing the song. His mother must be every bit as proud as I was when I heard my own twelve-year-old son sing AC/DC’s “Big Balls.” (But my son didn’t do it on international television. That I know of.)
And it didn’t end there.
Nishok, who plays football with his friends once a week, said: ‘His first words to me were, ‘How are you, my friend?’ ‘Then, he asked me to sing him the song again,

For the second time, Nishok was the envy of the 500 plus spectators,

First he waved at Nishok. A while later, he pointed towards the boy while sitting down and talking to a team-mate.

Then came the unexpected as his team-mates trooped off the field. Anderson stood up,

This is one of those stories that makes my maternal area go all soft and squishy.
For good measure, Anderson also signed on the pair of boots.

Hogan London, absolutely made the life of a twelve-year-old fan in Singapore.
Then, he threw the remaining boot.

Today I am leaving for a two week vacation to Europe. My long lost college roommate and I are going to be hitting up Spain and Italy and in Italy Vlad will be meeting up with us for a Gondola ride or two!
