David Beckham And Manchester United
David was born in Leytonstone London in 1975, his parents Ted and Sandra were keen Manchester United fans and would often take him to Old Trafford to see their favourite team.
What a dream it must have been not to many years later, to see him play for one of the most successful football teams on the planet.
As a schoolboy he had trials with various local clubs and attended the Tottenham Hotspur School of Excellence. Signed to the Man. Utd, youth training programme when he was 14 he played alongside Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers who became known as Fergie's Fledglings. In 1991 Beckham was signed as a trainee and in 1992 helped the club to win the F.A. Youth cup by scoring against Crystal Palace in the final. During his time in the Youth Team he was loaned to Preston North End to gain some first team experience,

In April 1995 he made his Premier League debut at Old Trafford against Leeds United. Playing mainly at the right midfield position he quickly became a regular in the first team line up. 1995/96 would be another great season for the club with David scoring the winning goal in the F.A.Cup semi-final against Chelsea and Man. Utd. claiming their second Double.
1996/97 was a very good year for David, when he was compared to the legendary Pele, for scoring a goal from the half way line against Wimbledon ,

His pin point accuracy when passing the ball and his genius freekicks made him the most popular player on the pitch with team mates and fans alike. There is no doubt his amazing ability and performances helped Man. Utd. win another Premiership title and he was voted Young Player of the Year.
Man. Utd. would not be successful in the 1997/98 season, they failed to win any titles but Beckham was successful in being selected for England's World Cup Finals squad. In the Colombia match he scored from an amazing freekick and became the nations hero but unfortunately not for long. While playing Argentina he retaliated after being fouled, was given the first red card of his career,
