It doesn't get much to get started in Web crime today. Locate the best internet site, hand above $50, and you'll begin wreaking havoc with 1,000 already-infected PCs.
Finjan, a San Jose, CA protection business, looked in to the "Golden Cash" web site, used by black hats to get and offer using hijacked personal computers. The crooks behind the site infect PCs (or pay out other people to do so) using the Golden Dollars remote-control malware, and then promote use of those PCs. And that entry isn't going to charge a lot.
According to the cost listing in Finjan's report,
Office 2007 Professional Key, a batch of 1,000 contaminated PCs in Australia charges $100 - a whopping 10 cents each. A batch within the US runs $50, and bargain-basement bad guys can build a far-east malware network for as small as $5 for each one,
Microsoft Office Professional Plus,000. Crooks can then set up other malware, send spam,
Office Home And Student 2010 Sale, embed rogue antivirus,
Office 2010 Serial Number, or make use of the victim PCs in any variety of profit-making scams.
