Thumbs up 2011-2012 NBA Lockout, Will It Affect the Sneaker Game? | SMS ...

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! The Heart BREAKING NEWS everywhere was reporting that the NBA had not reached agreement deal on the terms of a Lockout. As of July 1st the 2011- 2012 NBA Season has been locked out and sources are saying that the NBA could stay gone for a longer than we expect. Of course, there are “The people who stand to have their lives impacted by a NBA shutdown of our industry are going to have a negative view of both sides,” NBA Commissioner David Stern said. “I think our fans will tend to have a negative view of why can’t you guys work this thing out.” Professional Sports along with the Team Culture has bled into the sneaker industry and our everyday life. Especially for those of us who are in tune with the season, Fantasy drafts, and into every game from the beginning of NBA Season. Granted, if you love sports you can just transfer your energy to the NFL Season (maybe) and NCAA Mens Hoops. NCAA Hoops can only go so far since there are really no endorsements and others thinking the college market has dwindled with proof from this past Junes' NBA Draft. Point is, we all know that NBA Basketball is what got the sneaker culture churning in the first place. So we wanted to shed some light on what the NBA Lockout means to the sneaker culture and its state of operation. The last time there was a lockout in the 1998-1999 NBA Season the internet, the sneaker blogs, and social media were not important aspects of the culture as it is in 2011. So there is no doubt that the 2011-2012 NBA Lockout will have an impact on sneaker culture, whether the impact will be negative towards sales is uncertain but we can expect a dramatic turn of events. Some thoughts are that maybe 莆田鞋业 with no NBA this will give sneaker culture and those that contribute to the sneaker community a platform to be more creative. This may excite some since there are a lot of people that think the sneaker culture has been watered down with retro after retro. There are many who do complain about the retro releases and wonder why Nike is so hard pressed to make new classics? Nike Basketball seems to be in a better position than ever, especially since the brand and its signature players have gone global. What will happen with Nike Basketball and other hardcourt brands it midst of the lockout? We all know that you should know to always wear and buy whatever you like and never let the hype influence your decision, the NBA/Nike/Jordan hype is huge. A lockout may open up the flood gates for other brands and other niches in footwear (the lifestyle casual but yet athletically inspired) can continue to create and bring classics to the market. Lets look into some aspects of the NBA that may really impact the sneaker market and sneaker blogs. -Biggest sneaker news since this new Lockout, Kemba Walker signs with to Under Armour and also Nike Basketball signs number 1 draft pick Kyrie Irving. Last year it was Draft Pick Jon Wall who first signed to Reebok and within weeks he had sneakers and commercial for the media. Will players get to enjoy their endorsements? Brands aren't seeming to second guess signing these players? - NBA on ABC for Christmas Day has been a big day since I can remember, now that the shoe brands are involved with debuting product it is even bigger. The mid October announcement of what NBA Teams will be facing off pretty much affects everyone as many plan the Christmas Day around watching certain games. Last year there were 3 big games that aired on Christmas Day, so all day we were entertained by family, food, and NBA. Christmas Day stories are 网站制作 beginning to be centered around the sneakers that the elite players with Nike would be wearing, we all remember ESPN showcasing the sneakers. - The NBA All Star Festivites are another big event that we may miss out on. This is of course a big weekend for sneaker releases, as you know Michael Jordan would always release a sneaker this weekend and the madness has only gained momentum. For LA in 2011 NBA All Star produced 85 million in increased economic activity for the Los Angeles market. This includes a minimum of 60 million associated with increased tourism in connection with events held during All-Star week and an additional 25 million by local residents and businesses. Not to mention the sneaker and apparel shopping that takes place. - Nike Basketball is coming off of a great run with some of their elite players in the League. Dirk Nowitski is coming off a huge year and may miss time to capitalize on a great Nike campaign. Kobe Bryant, who is beginning his Asia 2011 summer tour is still considered the Black Mamba… 安福商贸城 the Nike Zoom Kobe VI was a bread winner with numerous colorways released last season. Now turned "Enemy of the Media" Lebron James was one of the biggest news stories last year not just in sports but period. The Nike Air Lebron 8 was a hit for Nike again like Kobe's signature shoe. Then in the back of these two we have Kevin Durant and also a heavy campaign that is guaranteed for 2011 NBA Dunk Champ Black Griffin. -Adidas is coming off of a great year with the AdiRose and the AdiLight campaign, their star contract signee Derrick Rose wins MVP as he becomes the NBAs youngest MVP ever. Will the strong Adidas Basketball campaign come to a hault that may slow the brand success. - Jordan Brand will take a hit as Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwyane Wade would've had very productive years ahead. Chris Paul would probably have left New Orleans to a new market, as this year Carmelo Anthony left the Denver Nuggets for New York Knicks, making for a bigger push for his sneaker campaign and brand image… New teams for players equals new colorways and new markets. And Dwyane Wade is coming off a great year with the Air Jordan 2011 and also the newly released Jordan Fly Wade (his first signature sneaker with the brand) -In Store campaigns and House of Hoops visits will surely be put on hold or not? Pretty certain that the players can't represent the team they are signed with, team and player communication may result in 1 mil fine for team. Topics that the Sneaker blogs, sites, and news sources may miss out on reporting during the NBA Lockout are listed as follows. On Court Player Sneaker/ Sneakers On Court, Courtside Sneaker Spottings Players Style/Fashion as they Arrive for Games Player Interviews/Pressers Players Making Cameos/Appearances in Commercials. (for some reason, the players are way more appealing when you see their cameo during the active season since the next day you can see on court giving their all). It is unknown if sneakers will continue to release, as up next for Kobe on the Zoom Kobe VII by Nike as well as for Lebron is the Air Max Lebron IX. Will we have various colorways to report on. Just something to think about. Now here is an interesting sales stat that may support the fact of Footlocker and other retailers will not be hurt by the NBA Lockout in regards to sales. This is a list of the “Top 5 Selling Basketball Sneakers for November 2010″. 1.**** Men's Nike Air Max Lebron 8 – 157.14 2.**** Men's Air Jordan Retro 9 – 139.47 3.**** Men's Air Jordan Force 10 – 138.88 4.**** Men's Air Jordan Retro 2 – 133.84 5.**** Men's Air Jordan Force 4 – 148.18 4 of the top 5 selling basketball sneakers are Air Jordans, and Michael Jordan doesn't play in the NBA anymore. His influence is no longer on the court to sway the consumers mind to purchase his sneaker, this is a lifestyle along with the sport. The number 1 selling basketball sneaker nike id,nike sb,nike air force 1,nike air max, nike griffey max ... is the Nike Air Max Lebron 8, and it was reported that Nike sold more than 500,000 pairs of Lebron shoes this past year. Will that number be affect in the absence of the NBA? Hopefully we will have a NBA Season to come soon, hope you enjoyed this quick read.
