History of Pandora Charms
Before Pandora became a jewelry brand renowned all over the world, it first made its mark in its hometown in Copenhagen, Denmark. The jewelry company introduced its first Pandora bracelet to the Danish market in 1999, which eventually became wildly popular across Europe.
Perhaps the “charm” that Pandora jewelry charms possess is the customizability of the Pandora charms. Hence, every Pandora bracelet can be considered unique, since the wearer gets to personalize her own bracelet.
In 2002, Pandora Jewelry was able to break into the North American jewelry market. Since then, the jewelry company has already created more than 800 handcrafted charm bracelets, as well as other fine jewelries such as earrings, necklaces, and rings. Today, Pandora Jewelry can be found in more than twenty countries across Europe, North America, Australia, and the Caribbean. Pandora also donates part of its earnings to a few nonprofit organizations.
The establishment of the Pandora Jewelry line would not have been possible if the creators did not get inspired by the Greek mythology character, Pandora. Greek mythology has it that Zeus, the god of the gods, wanted to take revenge on Prometheus, which is the reason why he asked the god Hephaestus to create the first woman in the world named Pandora. The gods lavished everything on Pandora, with Zeus even giving Pandora a box containing all the evils in the world. Zeus forbade her to open it, but since Pandora is naturally curious, she was not able to resist temptation. She opened the box, releasing all the evils in the world – conflict, disease, sadness, and the like. This is the story that inspired the creation of Pandora jewelry charms.
What made Pandora stand out from all the other jewelry brands is the fact that it allows women to design their own Pandora jewelries using Pandora charms. It encourages artistry, individuality, and creativity among its customers.
Just last year, Pandora released its latest collection–LovePods, which are jewelries made of gemstones and 18k gold. This collection features the stackable Pandora rings, which can be combined to get a unique style. Just like all the other Pandora bracelet charms, the LovePod can also be used to customize your own unique look.
