Default Office Home And Business blog have-my-co-workers-g

I realize that many of you non-HR viewers out there in all probability don’t frequently go to Joel Cheesman’s blog … even though you need to. He’s a geek along with a Search engine optimization (Seo) guru who has infiltrated the recruiting local community with his techno-insight and quirky fashion. (While I’m considering he wants to alter the title of his blog … but that’s just my opinion.) I also heard Joel speak several months ago in Boston, and he’s a crazy smart guy. Anyway, Joel recently took his blog commercial and posted an Ebay auction to sell ad space. Next thing I know, I'm reading Joel's blog, and two of my co-workers are staring back at me from cyberspace. Yikes. advertisement
Glenn Gutmacher, one of our researchers here (although not pictured in the ad itself), gave me the scoop. Given our jobs in staffing, we follow quite a lot of recruiting industry blogs. But it raised a few eyebrows (credit to boss Rob for noticing first) when one of the popular ones,Office 2007 Pro Plus Key, HRSEO (as in search engine optimization for human resources), decided to offer banner ad space to the top bidder for an extended period and an extra semi-perm text link. We realized not a lot of software engineers read that one,Microsoft Office Standard, as compared to our fellow recruiters,Office Home And Business, but we were intrigued by the idea of high visibility where quite a few of our colleagues drop by, especially now when we’re hunting for top talent in our own group. So with the bidding starting under a dollar, we figured what the hey! Of course,Microsoft Office 2007 Product Key, first-time novelty item auctions tend to skyrocket,Windows 7 Ultimate, so we had to limit ourselves to avoid paying through the nose. (Shally can get really excited when he’s jazzed about something). Well, the auction’s closed now. Was it too rich for Microsoft’s blood? Will the ROI even justify the price that the winner will have to pay? If you’ve read this far, then you must be curious enough to find out who won, and what the ad looked like. So check out HRSEO’s blog, which we suppose will have the winner posted by the time you read this. Scary stuff indeed. But hey, I guess that’s truth in advertising for ya. Do you think this will be effective? gretchen
