"Getting to hate Doctor Who ""Much as I loved David Tennant's Doctor Who, I was open to the new team of Matt Smith (as DW) and Stephen Moffat (as director). I liked the first episode, but dvd box set 24 hours grew to increasingly dislike the new team as I watched more episodes. I have now reached the point where I loathe Smith.In a way, I can't exactly blame him because Smith is too young to be Doctor Who. Maybe it's his limitation as an actor, but 27-year-old Matt Smith portrays Doctor Who as a 27-year-old or even younger. His Doctor Ally McBeal dvd series Who lacks wisdom (that can only come from age and experience), passion and brilliance of intellect (which Tennant had in loads), and the sadness of being the last of complete Army Wives box set his species and of having seen so much suffering and misery. Instead, Smith's Doctor Who is physically gawky (like Bones series box sets some bumbling teenager), not particularly brilliant (how many times did Amy, Boston Legal dvd box a 20-year-old earthling with neither education nor special training, come up with the solution to their predicament? Puleese), and most offensive of all, is rude (telling others to "Shut Up!) and RESORTS TO VIOLENCE (which violates Doctor Who's very nature).I'm also weary of how Moffat and the writers make every episode incomplete -- they continue on and bleed into each other. "Disappointed ""As others have said in their reviews, the Boston Legal complete box set 5th series never matched the brilliance of the previous 4 seasons... not in the acting nor in the writing. I was willing to give Smith lots of room to make the Doctor his own, (especially after the stellar work 30 Rock seasons dvds of Eccleston and Tennant), but he just is not seasons one Big Love convincing. He is far too immature to pull it off, as is Gillian. But the biggest let-down was the writing... almost nothing original, and nothing of any substance... as immature as the actors. Brothers and Sisters dvd box set The one exception was the Vincent van Gogh story, which I thought was well done and up to the standards of the previous seasons. Even the TARDIS is a let-down... looking like a Army Wives complete series box set cheap circus. Sigh... I tried to like it (since I'm a big fan), but I just couldn't. I really hope the next season is better, and maybe Smith will grow into the Doctor's shoes and find some of the Doctor's wisdom. "Matt McCoy is fine but.... ""The writing is very uneven for this 5th series. Gone are everything familiar about the show in the past except the Tardis. Matt Smith is good as the Doctor. His portrayal offers a more quirky Doctor and Karen Gillian is fun too, I just think Moffat, whom I had a lot of faith in,"" hasn't quite Bones seasons 5 gotten in the groove yet. Time to bring back some of the writers from the Ally McBeal the complete series previous series and get it back on track. The season ender is a step in the right direction. "I was disappointed ... ""With Army Wives box set complete series Series Five, at least for our family, Saturday nights were set aside for watching Doctor Who. However, as the season progressed, we found ourselves actually forgetting to watch. The stories were just not intriguing enough to keep us interested.As for Matt Smith, I loved him. He is cute and reminiscent of Tom Baker enough to engender a love of him in the role. However, while Karen is a good actor, I did not care for her character at all and I especially hated her too short mini skirts.All in all, I think I will purchase a couple of the Tom Baker episodes rather than the Fith Series. "The Devolution of Doctor Who ""It's taken a long time for me Bones series to finally admit what has been obvious from the moment the new rebooted series dvd in Big Love first graced the screens Breaking Bad series 1-2 box set in 2005, the "new" Doctor Who is pure schlock and an insult to the original classic series. I've been a fan of Doctor Who since accidently stumbling upon it on PBS since the mid-1980s. I eagerly Big Love complete series box set awaited its inevitable return. But what Bones box set dvd came back was not a revamped, serious adult science fiction program, but a childish, poorly written cringe inducing cross between the Power Rangers and Lost in Space.The "Big Bang", the final episode of this series is emblematic of the failures of the new series as a whole. The Doctor is bestowed with nearly super human abilities and a near total fixation on his sonic screwdriver, which has gone from merely opening doors to doing everything just short of revitalizing the dead. The plot is riven with Sci Fi 24 hours series 1-8 box set mumbo jumbo that doesn't even attempt to make any sense, complete with interwoven time streams that break all "laws" of time travel that the series has put in place.Nearly half this "epic" episode is filled with a rehash of the adventures of the current series and an emphasis on the personal life of Amy Pond. Its climax is literally a fairy tale.What Breaking Bad complete box set has been most disappointing about the new series, putting aside its near relentless multicultarism, political correctness, fixation on the Earth, and soap Ally McBeal seasons 1-5 box set opera focus on the Doctor's companions personal lives, has been its House MD boxset failure to introduce anything new and memorable. What interesting new companion has traveled with the Doctor, what new alien species has arisen to threaten the universe? Destroying Gallifrey and the Time Lords in the Time War was a questionable maneuver, (especially in light of the series continual story lines involving the Daleks, who were supposedly destroyed as well), but at least it opened up new Bones seasons on dvd possibilities. The Time Lords kept order in the Universe and the Daleks kept lesser species at bay. Who has arisen in their absence? Although there are vague references to the "Shadow Proclamation" controlling some kind House MD tv series boxsets of international constabulary, this angle is never explored.
