Whose father did not ever own a pair of teashades, please stand up! You can all sit down now and stop kidding yourselves. They all did at one point in time have worn these popular sunglasses in the 60’s or 70’s. Who wouldn’t? They’re known as the John Lennon sunglasses. Whether you, young critics like it or not, these teashades are back in the scene.
And now that these used to be popular sunglasses in the past squeezed it way back into the fashionable streets of the celebrity world, it is worn even by hot teen celebs like the Olsen princesses; even the hugely screamed at Justin Bieber is seen wearing these teashades while walking through the Hollywood streets.
So how do you carry out a 70s popular sunglasses such as the teashades, one might ask. Well I tell you this much, my loyal minions, John Lennon fashion is all about the big messy hair, torn jeans and jacket. Wear them and pair it with these popular sunglasses that have circle metal frame and you are IN! What is even better is if you are a gal wearing them, put on those bling-blings on your neck and an oversized blouse to the style of a modernized hippie with these popular sunglasses and you are good to go. If you have a knack for music, it is true that most of musicians are into teashades. Mick Jagger loved them, but not just “past tensed” musicians but the later batches too like Lady Gaga who are so hot with these popular sunglasses, so why wouldn’t you?
Okay, I may sound a little ungrateful if I don’t mention Ozzy when speaking of teashades. Yes, these popular sunglasses are also known as Ozzy glasses. This is because I want to properly introduce the significance of teashades in those days when it was hugely in fashion; now this was just some rumored stories from the older folks so no pun intended. Back in those times, and I only associate this with Ozzy and the like of him, these popular sunglasses were not just worn for artistic purposes but they are worn to represent the drug counterculture of the 60s or the segregation adversaries. Wearing these sunglasses is psychedelic of nature, PSYCHED! For me that story suddenly made these teashades interesting.
Teashades also had a lot to do with the double lenses you flip up and voila, the prescriptive lenses magically replace the colored dark lenses. These teashades, sort of magical (?) transition from shades to prescription glasses by just flipping the top lenses were popular in the 60s and 70s eras as well, but surprisingly enough, some of these used to be popular sunglasses pop up ever now and then; and no (!), not on home TV shopping,Thomas Sabo Big Red Fish Pendant, some folks are still wearing them.
It is a little hard to take that these 60s popular sunglasses are back in the scene, especially for the kids of younger generations. Fashion is only a suggestion, kids. If you don’t want to wear them, no one is after to torture you. Besides, if you can’t pull it off, why bother, right?
