When cards fall down from the sky, kids picked them up and made up a new game. Soon, the shops started selling these cards, and more and more kids buy them to play with their friends. But little did they know that the cards aren't as harmless as they seem...
Chapter I
Extraordinary
"Honestly, I don't know what is so
good about those cards," my best friend, Levia, said to me.
Hi, I'm Akira Nakamura, and I'm 16 years old. In the generation we live in now, teenagers like us seem to be playing around with cards which they call 'Legends of the Raven'. I really don't understand the meaning, but it's just a game so I don't have to create such a huge fuss about it, right?
Levia and I were walking back to our houses from school.
I shrugged, "Maybe they're fun."
"Fun?"
"Well, we haven't played the game before, have we? So we won't know how fun the game is. After all, I do see smiles on some of the players."
"The ones with frowns are the losers, aren't they?"
"I guess so."
We soon came to a junction. I had to walk ahead and walk through the park to get to my house, while Levia had to turn left. We bid each other goodbye and made our way back home. I loved walking in the park; it was really cool and refreshing, especially in the evening.
Strange. It's dusk, and there are still kids playing around in the park. In fact, they're not just
kids, they're teenagers! As usual, they were playing with their cards. I rolled my eyes and sighed; how I wish I could play with them. The problem is that I could get addicted to it, and I know that's bad.
I continued to watch the teenagers as they played. But what really baffles me is that, everytime they shout 'Activate Battlefield!', they disappear! Where do they go? Outer space? Honestly, I don't know. But I wish I did.
Then I heard a thunder and looked up at the sky; it was dark, and I knew it was going to rain soon. I sighed again and walked along the path.
All of a sudden, I felt that the atmosphere had changed. It turned chilly all of a sudden. There was no one else in the park, besides me. What am I going to do? The rain is gonna pour down any minute!
I ran down the path as fast as I could. Then I saw something on the ground. I ran up to it to take a closer look; it was a card. Something urged me to reach out and grab for it, but I didn't want to because I knew that once I play the game, it would change my life.
Curiosity killed the cat, remember?
Then I sighed,
what's the worst that could happen? I bent down and grabbed the card; it was glowing! I turned the card only to see a picture of a sword. The phrase '
Broad Sword' was written above it. And the description only said, '
Used by beginners.'
I was totally oblivious to my surroundings, but when I looked up, I found myself in a world of total darkness.
Whoops, this means trouble.
I looked at myself, and realized that my uniform and bag was missing! Instead, I was wearing a red, metal suit. I was sure that I wasn't dreaming. The card which was in my right hand sudddenly transformed into a plain-looking sword.
What is this...?
"
Akira Nakamura," a voiced boomed. "
You have been chosen to be one of the Light Warriors, to save your world from pure darkness."
"Wait,
beats by dre solo," I interrupted. "Is this a game or something?"
"
Yes... you're in a game... Legends of the Raven. In this game, you are a warrior of Light, as the Raven had predicted. Now you, along with other Light Warriors, will have to fight, if you don't want your planet to perish, that is..."
"Wait a minute, I don't even know how to play!"
"
It's easy... With each battle won, you get a card. The cards you get are extremely useful for use in battle, so use them wisely. You first choose a weapon of your choice and shout 'Battle Activate!'. You will then be taken to a different world to battle. You will have a belt that contains your deck of cards. To use them, you need to pick a card and shout 'Activate Card!'. It is pretty simple..."
"Okay... what happens if I lose?"
"
If you lose, you will perish..."
I widened my eyes. Lose a game and perish? Sounds pretty dangerous for a card game, not to mention it's not only happening to me, but to billions of players out there!
"
There are a few rules you must follow..."
"What rules?"
"
One, you must not steal other opponents' cards. Two, you cannot quit the battle. And three... you must never let the reality world come into contact with the game world. Something very bad will happen."
"Uhh, okay... so, what am I here for?"
"
This will be your first battle."
Just then, a boy in a purple suit came out of nowhere. He gave me a devious smile, "Wanna fight?"
I smiled back, "You're on!"
The boy summoned a sword- way bigger than mine!
It must be more powerful too.The boy then charged at me.
God, he's fast! He must've used some kind of speed boost card! I tried to read his moves and unexpectedly, I managed to dodge his attack,
MBT scarpe Fora! The boy stopped and turned to look at me, baffled. I smiled; this could be easier than I thought.
I held my sword tight and charged towards the boy, but he managed to dodge my attack as well. I did this multiple times, and he dodged multiple times. Then, I stood at one corner, trying to catch my breath. The boy smiled at me.
I closed my eyes and tried to think; all this time I've been running at him, he managed to dodge. What if I jump towards him and attack him? Will he be fast enough to dodge my attack? Let's just give it a try...
Once again, I ran towards the boy, causing him to smile. I was sure he was about to dodge. Then, when I was not fat from him, I jumped. The boy gasped and looked up, making me smile; he wasn't expecting that.
Then, using all of my strength, I 'flew' towards him. In a blink of an eye, I had already attacked him with my sword. I landed on the floor gracefully and looked up; the boy was floating in the sky.
"Th...that was... too fast...," he mumbled. Then I gasped- he started to disappear in pixels slowly. Then, he was completely gone.
"
Very good,Jimmy Choo Sandals," the voice said. "
You have succeeded your first battle. You are now capable to battling on your own. You received your first deck of cards as a reward..."
I spotted red cards falling from the sky. I thought it would be a waste if I let them fall by their own, so I ran around and caught them. In total, I got 30 cards. Some of them are weapons, cards that boosts the affects of weapons and armor, and the rest are all cards to sabotage our opponents.
Then a light glowed around my waist and I saw that a belt had formed on it. It was made of metal, and there was a small metal container on the right- to place my deck of cards. I smiled; perhaps this was a good thing.
I put my cards safely into the container, and immediately the surroundings around me changed. I looked around; I was back in the park.
Strange, everything seemed normal.
Then I realized; time stops when you go into a battlefield! But... how is it that I was able to see kids disappear? Is it because that I was chosen to be one of the
Light Warriors?
I sighed and smiled, making my way back home. A new journey is starting, and I shouldn't waste this opportunity.
Lol my first story! I know it sucked, but I tried my best anyway.
I wish a game like this exists in real life; we can battle each other using cards! Lol I love card games! They are so fun, and you can shout anything you want! You can trade cards, and the best part is, if you're very good in the game, you actually feel like you're in the game!
That's what happened to me while I was playing Duel Masters. xD
Anyway, I'm sorry for any grammar mistakes. Till the next chapter!
