A few years ago, there was a point when you could only hope to find a pair of jeans that didn’t come pre-ripped, pre-creased or smattered with bleach.
So by now, we must be fed up with paying too much for pre-destroyed clothing. But that doesn’t mean the fashion world is ready to stop doing your D.I.Y. for you.
Lexington,
Charlotte Olympia & Krystof Strozyna – Fashionista Fashion Industry News, Designers, Runway Shows, Style Advice, Kentucky label Attus Apparel has taken this concept to a whole new level by introducing a polo with bullet holes,
Fendi Sunglasses,
Banana Republic Fall ’08 – Cute Clothes, Cuter M, aptly named the “Shot-up Shirt.”
It sells for $100, and while it may be appreciated by some for its aesthetic value, its creator, Whit Hiler,
cheap converse shoes, dreamed it up more as publicity for his website than anything else.
With all of the companies currently marketing distressed clothes – Diesel,
NFL Jerseys, Ed Hardy – it makes sense to set yours apart from the rest. But with bullets?
We’re willing to purchase distressed denim for $150 (or more) because, let’s face it, running over your jeans with a Jeep is the only other way to get them worn in.
However,
Q What Did One Hat Say to the Other Hat A You Stay Here, I’ll Go On A Head – Fashionista Fashion Industry News, Designers, Runway Shows, Style Advice, would you be willing to pay $100 for a polo that was merely taken out back and shot, or would you rather D.I.Y. with a BB gun?
We wouldn’t wear it at all,
uggs boots, but there’s added stress relief in option #2.
