Sony rep: Japanese catastrophe has not impacted NGP release
A report suggesting the Japanese earthquake and tsunami would delay the release from the NGP has reportedly been debunked by Sony.
“So far we see no impact from the quake on our launch plan,” a Sony representative said, according to The Wall Street Journal (subscriber content).
According to Sony’s man, the Bloomberg report on the matter,
Office 2010 Professional Key, which had SCE America boss Jack Tretton citing the Japanese catastrophe as cause to release the new console in only one region, as simply “wrong”.
The spokesperson went on to explain that Sony never promised a simultaneous global launch, confirming earlier comments from Tretton on the subject.
Rumours have the console’s release pegged down for late 2011,
Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Plus, with a November European release specifically mentioned.
Sony has revealed only that it will release the console in a staggered fashion,
Office 2007 Standard, starting this year.
