Windows 7 Professional
If you imagined the Atrix was modern and can inspire the longer term generation of smartphone/netbook products,
Windows 7 Home Premium, properly it seems to be like it has,
Office 2007 Professional, and we didn’t even have to wait very long for it to happen. Kosmaz Technologies has just announced the upcoming arrival of the Compufon. Touted as “the only smartphone that you will ever need in the future with the capability of becoming your tablet PC of Laptop.”
The Compufon itself is an interesting device – the smartphone is said to be running on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) – the version of Android that is optimized for tablets. Now you may wonder – why would a phone need Honeycomb? Nicely,
Windows 7 Ultimate, when it is inserted into a special docking-tablet, the phone becomes the “brain of the tablet” and breathes life into the 10.6″ display. The tablet can then be inserted into a special case that comes with a built-in Bluetooth full QWERTY keyboard it works with,
Microsoft Office 2010, essentially turning the tablet into a netbook.
While the idea is not wholly original – Motorola did something similar with the Atrix and dock, but failed to execute it to perfection; Kosmaz might have the potential to do better with the Compufon. No details on pricing have been released at the moment but the Compufon is slated to arrive on the market in Q4 2011. Head to the Compufon website for more details and specs.
