Five-year-old twins Kate and Emily Fechner dressed to impress.
The two wore pink and blue fluorescent lacy skirts with matching T-shirts, bright pink hoodies and flashy sunglasses.
"I want to see him play piano," Emily said.
"And sing," said sister Kate.
They had their naps and were ready for Sir Elton John.
The two came with 10-year-old sister, Mikayla, and parents Annette and Tom Fechner of La Crosse. Dad bought a greatest hits compilation the girls danced around to in the living room.
"They might not appreciate it as much now, but someday they'll realize," Annette said.
The twins were disappointed when the April 19 date had to be rescheduled, but for them and the more than 6,500 people attending Wednesday night's show, Elton was worth the wait.
"I can't explain it," said Joette Doye of Dodgeville, Wis. "He's just so talented."
Joette came with her daughter Joelle. It's the third time they have seen Elton together.
"He's the most talented performer I've ever seen," said Joelle, who plans to fly to Ireland to see Bon Jovi.
Both are huge music fans. Joette saw Elvis in Madison just two months before he died.
Their sixth-row seats, courtesy of their cousin who just happens to know Elton's piano tuner, gave them the perfect view to take in all the hits.
"He loves what he does, and he shares that with the audience," Joette said.
Many traveled for the show, like 28-year-old Jennifer Tucker who came from Minneapolis. She came by train April 19, only to find out the concert was postponed. No matter. Her parents,
c.html,南京乳之宝生物技术有限公司, Lois and Tom Tucker of Onalaska, threw an Elton John party.
"We had the re
power cords blaring," Tom said.
Jennifer teaches nursing at Anoka Ramsey Community College and had to have someone else give a test Wednesday night. Her students understood.
"They said they'd do the same thing," Jennifer said.
Her sister, Lauren Tucker, 22, glitter-glued some gold stars to a giant pair of pink sunglasses(we have
cheap sunglasses) for her.
And there was lots of glitter Wednesday night. Pieces of pink boa stuck to the floor of the La Crosse Center. There was also some Green Bay Packers attire. This is, after all, Wisconsin.
Pink glow sticks were waved from section 307, the not-exactly-cheap(
cheap handbags) cheap seats.
For the many who couldn't be there, Elton's fans tried to provide the next best thing by sharing pictures on Facebook. One woman held her cellphone up in an effort to get whoever was on the other end a taste, however small, of the show.
