宋岳庭，1978年11月6日出生于台北，2002年8月9日于加州病逝在母亲的怀里。23年的生命中，历 经了十年莫可奈何的漂泊波折，无尽的心事，只能透过绘画与音乐诉说。
　　　　
　　宋岳庭的妈妈是电视台的导播，爸爸是广告导演，他原该是个幸福快乐的孩子，事实也是，自小他就艺术细胞 发达，天才洋溢，小一就会自编自绘漫画，九岁时曾以“天才儿童”的身分接受过中视新闻杂志《60分钟》专访 ，是一个不折不扣的艺术资优生。崇拜肖恩康纳利的他给自己取名shawn。为了让他更好的发挥自己的天才， 父母决定送他去美国读书，不断的在加州,转 太牛了，简直让人吐血！，北卡和德州的亲戚家迁徙，直到18岁那年才由妈妈安排回租房加州独立居住。
　　　　
　　独立生活，是宋岳庭梦寐以求的全新起点，不想，却也因而误入陷阱，被朋友利用做了傻事，他以为自己是道 义相挺，殊不知朋友实际是讨钱未遂利用他的华人身分假装是华青帮转而勒索，他不仅成了共犯，还遭友人们串供 嫁祸，指已年届十九岁的他是主谋。
　　　　
　　就这样，Shawn糊里糊涂的被判刑入狱，在狱中的三个月，他和许多成年犯关在一起，看到、也经历了许 多不该是这个年纪该看到、该经历的事，并逐渐从愤怒、旁徨中理出头绪,Womens MBT M.WALK grey/purple,小白兔自杀完全手册，不断反省、不断创作、不断自我激励，也为自己的生命下了结论，写下《 Life is a struggle》这首歌。
　　　　
　　二十岁生日，Shawn在缓刑期中度过，这期间他只能待在家里已 音乐创作来宣泄他被压抑的心灵，不过这些作品并未被他刻意保 存。从一些由Shawn的妈妈和弟弟、表弟从字纸篓、书本夹页、 抽屉角落找回来的片纸残笺、录音带中，处处皆见Shawn如何努 力的从创作过程中寻求自我复健。可惜，造化弄人，就在这段期间，Shawn发现自己罹患了骨癌 ！
　　2001年耶诞假期，手术后的Shawn躺在病榻上不能再跳舞了，不过，他并没有给自己太多的时间去沮 丧，他坚强的样子，看在妈妈眼里，也觉得“这场仗，我们一定打得赢！”
　　　　
　　也许是老天一度心软了。出院以后，Shawn的病况大好，他兴奋地摸著腰告诉妈妈“癌细胞没有再长大了 ”。也就在这段期间，Shawn的妈妈曾认真考虑过让他和一个很爱他的女孩子结婚，好“冲冲喜”。然而，好 景不常，随著气候逐渐转热，Shawn的病况又恶化了！
　　　　
　　重回医院，Shawn得靠打吗啡度日，数不清的夜里,常吃西红柿治疗十种病，他不是梦呓似的跟守候床前的母亲说话，就是抚著母亲的手背，平静优雅，彷佛不带一丝悲伤。直到8月9日那 天，他突然坚持回家，回到家里他惯坐的沙发上，就这么一直坐到晚上，在母亲的怀里与世长辞，面容一如他二十 岁诗中预言的安详。
