After the necrosis of good King Josiah the people had gone back again to their idols. Their sins had become so great that God could not longer reserve from punishing them. But 1st he sent Jeremiah to give them variant warning.

They became petulant with him and threatened to kill him if he did not stop.

They wanted merely to listen only jolly things. They did not ambition to hear the Word of God when it told them of their sins. But Jeremiah did not stop giving them God’s information, as he have to comply God whether the people were amused or not.
