Slowly,
MBT Lami, surely, the list of veteran quarterbacks available to the Carolina Panthers is going to start to build. Carson Palmer jumped on the list last week and jumped off it just as quickly Monday, or that is what the message is from the Senior Bowl workouts.
Palmer is unhappy in Cincinnati after the 4-12 seasons. He wants a change of scenery. He wants to be traded.
Mike Brown, the Bengals' owner, said he is not going to trade Palmer, who was the first overall selection in the 2003 draft.
Next? Half the people in Chicago want Jay Cutler to take a hike, but the Panthers have to be looking at veteran backup. Who knows,
MBT Walking Shoes, they might really like the Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett.
The Panthers won two games this season because they couldn't get the ball out and they couldn't get it into the hands of wide receivers. Palmer,
MBT Shuguli Gtx, who is disgruntled in Cincinnati, needs a change of scenery and could be a stop gap until 1) the Panthers can grab a top-shelf quarterback in the draft 2) Jimmy Clausen proves us all wrong and develops into a good NFL quarterback.
I had another coach tell me Mike Shula, the new quarterbacks coach,
MBT Shoes, is a solid but not a "miracle worker" with quarterbacks. He wouldn't have to be a miracle worker with Palmer, but it doesn't appear the Bengals are going to bend on this.
It could be posturing,
MBT Chapa, but are the Panthers -- who want to build through the draft -- willing to separate themselves from draft picks? Maybe Palmer could be lured away in a draft,

Carolina has the makings of a run game with some veteran offensive linemen and good backs. They cannot get better without better play from the quarterback and wide receivers.
If the Panthers do not improve these areas in the offseason they are going to be right back at 2-14.
